The series is created in parallel to THE SECOND COMING series of works (2020 to date), and takes its name from a line in a song entitled Bad Dreams from the album Shine of 2007 by singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell. The works refer to a world out of balance, a planet we are slowly poisoning, and link back to similar concerns in the TERRAIN VAGUE body of work from 2010-2011, particularly the BETWEEN ASH AND DUST paintings and the video installation BETWEEN SMOKE AND CLOUDS.
