SENTENCE

SENTENCE is a video work that references multiple meanings of punishment and prison term assigned to a defendant and also the set of words typically containing a subject and a predicate. It visually alludes to automation and machinery, through a repetitive action being performed without thought, an instinctive discarding of knowledge through the discarding of pages from a book. The audio track is also reminiscent of destruction, this time in the form of crackling fire.

The video was consequently redigitised into frames and recycled into a digital print.
